Owl People Acolyte - paper toy with printable template

The second paper toy from my Owl People series. The Acolyte. The Acolyte is a larger sized paper toy than the Midlings.

(Midlings toy can be found here).

The base of the toy is the actual owl person, with 4 separate layers stacked on top.

The toy prints out best on 2 8.25/11 inch paper. Once the pieces are cut out,
roll them to curve the shape for easier assembly.

Rocket Ship Illustration

I have been asked to create a lot of  information graphics for my job lately. Isometric illustrations and icons are something I have been creating for many years now. The example here is a rocket ship created for use in an internal marketing piece that I am currently developing.

Created in Adobe Illustrator, texture overlay in Adobe Photoshop.

Overview of my steps in creating this graphic.

Owl People - Paper Toy with downloadable template

My latest paper toy series is a set of Owl People that have varying degrees of social stature.
This series, is the Owl People Midlings, the trusted servants of the later coming Acolytes,
Shamans, and Warriors. Below are pictured seven of the Midlings in a group.

The Owl People Midlings come apart in several layers. This picture shows the top level headdress off, reveling the secondary headdress.
Here is the Owl Person fully taken apart. This allows for limitless customization of each paper toy.

Build your own Owl Person here.
(Note: this is the only Owl Person template I have currently available online)
Click the image for the larger .jpg version and print.
The assembly is basically cutting the pieces out and cutting the feathered edges to your liking, then gluing one side to the next in a cone-like fashion.

Icon - Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans - Illustration

At my day job I often create a lot of iconography for various interactive projects. This particular icon was to to be used to identify a specific landmark on an interactive map interface for a civil engineering corridor project. As the project scope evolved, this landmark icon was no longer needed.

Illustration of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans created in Adobe Illustrator with
textures applied in Photoshop.

Functional size of the icon.

Apocalypse Now Digital Images

I used Apocalypse Now as a theme to tell a story about design project execution
during a presentation at the company I work for.

Below are three excerpts from the presentation. Video stills pulled into Photoshop and
design elements and typography were added.
